Scorpio - March 7, 2002 - October 7, 2005
Foundation Red Buck for T4 Ranch

On August 23, 2005 Scorpio suffered an injury which left him weak and unable to stand. After repeated veterinarian visits we took him to get an x-ray to determine if we could find the extent of his injuries. The x-ray showed what everyone thought was a slipped disc. Later we determined that it had to be a ruptured disc with nerve damage along the sciatica.

We decided to scratch him from the sale because we would not sell an unsound animal. Many of you prayed for his recovery and for his strength to improve.

After our sale we took Scorpio to Texas A & M University for an appointment with Dr. Bissette. It was determined from a rediogram that a CT scan was needed. They put him to sleep to get the CT scan and it showed that Scorpio was suffering from a spinal cord injury and that surgery was not an option. At this point the decision was made not to wake him up.

It was our opinion that Scorpio would best serve the industry at Texas A & M University in the hands of good people striving to make a better world for the livestock industry.

We will miss him very much as will the entire Colored Boer Goat Community.
